Changes at FOR SA

Union Buildings Pretoria

The end of 2023 brings significant changes to the FOR SA team as Legal Advisor and Parliamentary Liaison, Ms Daniela Ellerbeck, leaves the team. Ms Ellerbeck joined the FOR SA team in 2017 and specifically focussed on strengthening FOR SA’s engagement with the State (in front of Parliament and Departments) during the law-making process to help protect and promote the right to religious freedom.

At a board meeting on 15 November, the board accepted Ms Ellerbeck's resignation with effect from 15 December 2023. The Board thanked Ms Ellerbeck for her almost eight years of service at FOR SA and wishes her all the best with her future endeavours.

FOR SA’s Ms Liesl Pretorius, will be heading up FOR SA’s legal and parliamentary arms from 2024.

While we will clearly miss Daniela, FOR SA also looks forward to welcoming Ms Nobukhosi Zulu-Taruza, who will join us on a part-time basis in 2024. Nobukhosi is a highly experienced lawyer, with in-depth knowledge of policy development and strategic litigation and a specialisation in human rights.  She has a passion to protect, promote and uphold religious freedom. She looks forward to adding her considerable strength and expertise to the FOR SA team.
